78 rounded up in Tawau op

Tawau: A total of 78 people were rounded up in a four-hour Ops Bersepadu Esscom focused on construction site workers at Air Panas and Megah Jaya 9, Mile 3 Jalan Apas here, on Monday. District Immigration Department Officer-In-Chief, Noraini Rasi said nine people were detained for further investigations after they failed to produce legal documents. The operation which ended at noon, involved 33 officers and personnel from 10 enforcement agencies and departments namely the police, General Operations Force, Labour Department, Tawau Municipal Council, Road Transport Department, Customs, Sabah Ports, Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism as well as the National Registration Department.
