Pond and sea water supply options for Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: In times of drought, Sabah can avail clean treated water from ponds, rivers and sea by using portable water treatment units.Drinkable clean water treatment and supply is the key to public health safety as human beings in any social setting or location being cannot survive more than a week without adequate clean water supply.

The Toray Group Monday displayed its portable water treatment unit which can remove virus, bacteria, heavy metal and organic substances by using reverse osmosis (RO) technology.

Hiroshi Yoshimura, managing director of Toray Industries (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. said in his speech that, "water is a precious resource which all living organism cannot survive without."

Water treatment product specialist Toray Group founded in Japan in 1926 and started business in Malaysia more than 40 years ago in 1973 as Toray Group Malaysia (TGM) with eight manufacturing plants is one of its significant investments outside Japan.

Its Core Growth Driving Businesses of fibre, textile, plastics and chemicals makes it the leading market leader in these business fields. Currently, Toray Group has some 100 companies in Japan and 155 other companies in over 26 countries employing 45,800 with annual turnover in excess of 2.0 trillion yen (RM70 billion).

Delima Merah Corporation was appointed as Toray's sole agent in Sabah.
