30 teachers attend archery coaching clinic

Kota Kinabalu: Thirty primary school teachers attended a basic coaching archery clinic organised by Sabah State Archery Association at the Sandakan Sports Complex over the weekend (April 23-24).The two-day event was one of the association's development programmes for the year and the teachers involved came from SK Elopura 2, SK Sipinong, SK Pulau Lubukan, SK Sg Anib 3, SK Kg Bahagia, SK Ladang Sandak, SK Sungai Manila, SK Lung Mania and SK Tanjung Aru.All the participants were given the knowledge and skill in archery coaching before they can qualify for the Level 1 National Archery Coaching Course which the association will organise in August in Kota Kinabalu in collaboration with the National Archery Association of Malaysia.

The State association's President Datuk Zainie Abdul Aucasa who attended the clinic with coach Francisco was happy to see the progress of the sport in the Sandakan district and is confident that more archers from the district will get to represent the State and country soon. He thanked chief coach Paul Leong and teacher Sazahlie Sapar as well as members of the organising committee for the successful clinic and he also said similar coaching clinics would also be organised in Tawau and Kota Kinabalu soon.
