Esscom screens 91 in Tawau op

Tawau: Ninety-one people were screened during Esscom's five-hour integrated operation at construction sites on Monday.District Immigration Department Officer-In-Chief Noraini Rasi said seven men including two Indonesians and five Filipinos aged between 20 and 50 were detained for failing to produce legal documents.

"A roadblock (pic) was held at the Jambatan Putih area and we also went to a construction site at Sin Onn," she said, adding that the operation involved 32 enforcement officers from 10 departments and agencies.

According to Noraini, apart from the Immigration Department, the operation was also participated by police, General Operations Force (GOF), Labour Department, Tawau Municipal Council, Road Transport Department, Customs Department, Sabah Ports, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) and National Registration Department.

The operation was led by Insp. Joseph Jelian Ak Wilson Sigai.
