Bank Muamalat becomes fifth to sign corporate integrity pledge

Putra Jaya: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd became the fifth banking institution and 906th organisation in the country to sign the Corporate Integrity Pledge (CIP) to declare its commitment to fight corruption.MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali said corruption in the private sector must be given serious attention in order to have a more effective policy to fight the offence."At the MACC, we believe that corruption must be seen as a result of an institution's failure and not that of an individual's moral.

At the signing ceremony of the CIP held in Kuala Lumpur, Mustafar represented the MACC while Bank Muamalat was represented by its Chief Executive Officer Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid. The signing was witnessed by the bank chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Munir Abdul Majid.Mustafar also said that hopefully more institutions, especially in the banking sector would sign the CIP as integrity since good administration are key aspects that must be given priority by every organisation, not just profits. – Bernama
