Kota Kinabalu: A Barisan Nasional component party from Sabah has urged the people of Sarawak to rally behind the "sure winners" of Team Adenan.Doing otherwise and voting for the opposition would be to the people's disadvantage, said Upko acting president Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau.

"The State election is on May 7. And it is to choose who will govern Sarawak. And we all know, the Barisan Nasional under the leadership of the Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem will win.

"Team Adenan are sure winners. How about you? Are you ready to be on the winning team?" he asked to a thunderous "Yes!" by the crowd.

Tangau was at a pre-Gawai celebration at the Desa Wira Hall, at Batu Kawah, Kuching, on Tuesday night.

The event was officiated by BN's Batu Kawah candidate Prof Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.

"I accompanied Dr Sim to visit a few operation rooms this afternoon. The workers, the leaders, the voters are in high spirits. They had enough of just being onlookers the last five years.

"They want change. They now want things done, for a better tomorrow. Dr Sim is the best choice," said Tangau who is also Science, Technology and Innovation Minister.

He also reminded the people to ensure the Chinese community is represented in the State Cabinet by voting for Dr Sim, the president of the Sarawak United People Party (SUPP).

The Chief Minister had in the last few days spoken openly about including Dr Sim in his new Cabinet after the election.

Dr Sim is facing DAP incumbent Christina Chiew and independent candidate Liu Thian Liang.

The event was also attended by Transport Minister cum MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and Minister of International Trade and Industries Datuk Seri Ong Kah Chuan.
