On Jan 14, SRIB received the Excellence Award from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman for its good performance in the area of financial management in the Auditor-General's Report. Sabah MACC Director Datuk Shaharom Nizam said the CIP was established to expand the fight against corruption in government and private agencies, and not limiting to only the public. "To date a total of 22 organisations have signed the CIP in Sabah, including SRIB and the three companies and this will bring the total to 909 organisations in the whole country," he said after the signing and oath-taking ceremony held at Wisma Pertanian here. Also present at the ceremony were Agriculture and Food Industries Minister Datuk Yahya Hussin, SRIB Chairman Datuk Rubin Balang, SRIB General Manager Datuk Harris Matthews and others.

With the endorsement of the CIP by SRIB and its three subsidiaries, they will uphold the principles of anti-corruption elements and improve internal operations to weed out graft, adhere to graft laws of the country, eradicate all types of graft support and support anti-corruption programmes held by the MACC. Meanwhile, Yahya said SRIB is the first government-linked agency to sign the CIP, adding that the State Assemblymen had also signed a similar pledge in April last year, called "Aku Janji" to support the fight against corruption.
