Kota Kinabalu: Parents of SMK Limbanak students who are against the new principal can rest assured that Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid will look into their problem and work out an amicable solution.Penampang Umno Chief, Datuk John Ambrose said he met Mahdzir here on Saturday evening and briefed him on the problem."Before meeting Mahdzir, I spoke to various parties to find out the problem.ADVERTISEMENT "The Minister assured that he will work out a solution but would need a bit of time," said Ambrose, but declined to comment whether the Principal will be transferred out.The problem had been simmering for quite some time but became prominent when a banner was erected at the arch entering Kg Limbanak and Kg Kituau in Penampang, alleging that the principal was creating "chaos" at the school. It has since gone viral in social media. One Facebook user claimed several good senior teachers from the school were due for transfer to SMK Bahang in mid-April under the term of the previous State Education Director, but was put on hold after some protests. However, the transfers would now take effect in November.ADVERTISEMENT Ambrose urged parents to remain calm for the time being to allow the Minister put the solution in place. Ambrose had recently said he was curious to the claims that all the teachers who had been transferred then and now had been non-Muslims.
