Kuala Lumpur: Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said Radio Television Malaysia is not interested in broadcasting "live" debates related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) by any parties. He said debates on 1MDB were no longer relevant because the Public Accounts Committee and Auditor-General had concluded their probes on the dealings of the sovereign wealth fund.

"To me, there is no need for 'live' broadcast of debates on 1MDB when the PAC has completed its probe and tabled its report in Parliament.

"If there are parties who want to debate, they can do it at Parliament sittings because RTM is not interested in broadcasting "live" debates on 1MDB," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby, Tuesday.

He was responding to Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, from DAP, who asked RTM or TV3 to broadcast "live" his proposed debate on 1MDB with 1MDB President Arul Kanda Kandasamy.

However, Salleh said it was up to other TV stations whether they wanted to broadcast "live" such a debate.

He added that the issue arising about 1MDB now was a business conflict between the company and International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) which need not be debated because it is a business problem between the two companies.
