Chained boy's mother in Sabah

GEORGE TOWN: The mother of the eight-year-old boy, who was stripped naked and chained to the stairway of a high-rise in Paya Terubong, George Town, is in Sabah.The boy's aunty told Paya Terubong assemblyman Yeoh Soon Hin that the mother of the boy is in Sabah but the authority has not been able to get in touch with her.Paya Terubong Village Security and Development Committee chairman Frankie Kee said relatives of the boy had informed the State Welfare Department that they could not afford to look after him.

Currently, the boy is under the custody of the welfare department, Kee added.The father, who allegedly chained the boy for about five hours for being naughty, had been released on police bail pending investigations.He was arrested at about 4pm on Monday when he turned up at the Air Itam police station to give a statement.Meanwhile the boy who was stripped naked and chained at a stairwell by his father, says he wants to go back to him.
