Kota Kinabalu: Sabah DYS FC produced their best of the season with a 1-1 draw with table leaders KL Felcra in a Group A match of the FAM Cup at the Stadium UM in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. The team despite playing away made their opponents work hard for the point as striker Alan Doliente denied the hosts the maximum three points with an equaliser one minute before the full time whistle to cancel out Shahrizal Mohd Saad strike in the 82nd minute. However, the result came rather too late as the door for a top four finish and a place in the knockout stage is beyond their reach now with only three matches remaining while their opponents celebrated as the point assured them a place in the knockout stage. ADVERTISEMENT DYS FC are currently at the bottom in the nine-team table standing with only eight points from 14 matches and Club President Faisal Yee said it is a season of learning for the debutants."The invaluable experience learnt from this season will serve as a guide for the team to be better prepared and make a better impact in the competition next season, and we will definitely give our best in the remaining matches as well," he said on Tuesday.Meanwhile, another Sabah outfit in the competition, KDMM FC put up a good fight before losing 1-2 in their Group B match to leaders Perak PKNP FC at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on the same day.KDMM FC who were looking to get at least a point from the match were down 2-0 in the opening 20 minutes with goals from Hamizul Izaidi Zulkifli in the 10th and G. Mugenthirran in the 19th minutes before Yazali Yunat reduced the deficit with a goal in the 31st minute.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
