They're afraid of their own shadows: Kadau

Keningau: Sabah Reform Movement Vice President Paul Kadau on Tuesday alleged the plan by certain non-governmental organisations to hold a peaceful protest against calls for the reissuance of MyKads in Sabah showed there are individuals who are afraid of their own shadows. He said the planned protest on Kaamatan Festival this May 31 showed they were afraid that many of their members may have in their possession fake MyKads or documents.

"It is obvious they are afraid as there is a high probability its members may have false MyKads. This was why they decided to hold the protest.

"I think that the groups planning the protest may also have obtained their citizenship through the Projek IC connected to former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir," he claimed.

Supporting calls for the reissuance of MyKads to resolve Sabah's foreign migrant issues, Kadau hoped the government will soon decide to recall all doubtful Mykads, despite efforts against the move, in order to protect the harmony, security and sovereignty of the State.

Towards this end, Paul said those with a genuine Mykad need not be afraid of the proposed re-issuance.

A couple of police reports have been lodged against plans by a group of non-governmental organisations to hold a peaceful protest against the re-issuance of MyKads in Sabah to date.

Pertubuhan Angkatan Gabungan Rakyat Asli Sabah and the KadazanDusun Cultural Association had over the past days lodged police reports although the group allegedly behind the peaceful protest had remained silent, although social media users had seen their flyers online.

The police have not made any comments on the matter yet.
