Kuala Lumpur: The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) invites Malaysian media practitioners nationwide to send in their works published between Aug 1, 2015 and July 30, 2016 for the CIDB Media Awards 2016.In a statement issued Wednesday, CIDB said all the entries should revolve around construction industry issues or issues listed in the Construction Industry Transformation Programme, namely quality, safety and professionalism, environmental sustainability, productivity and internationalisation of the construction industry.

The awards programme is organised by CIDB in collaboration with the Works Ministry, Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) and Sabah Journalists Association (SJA).

Each entry, whether text, audio, video or photograph should be submitted together with the description and entry form to the MPI, KDJA and SJA by this July 30, the latest, according to the categories - Print Media Awards (News & Features), Electronic Media & Online Broadcasting Awards (News & Features), and Photography Awards.

The awards, with a total prize money of RM90,000, will be presented at the Works Ministry Media Nite.

The top winner in each category will receive RM5,000, while the runner-up and third placed will get RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively, besides a trophy and a certificate of participation.

The CIDB Awards programme was introduced last year in conjunction with CIDB's 20th anniversary, as a mark of appreciation to the media through their works which helped to raise public awareness on issues related to the construction industry, such as work quality and safety at the work sites.
