LD break-ins, robberies: Two men held

Lahad Datu: Police nabbed two men recently in connection with several house break-ins and robberies in the district. District Police Chief ACP Hamzah Ahmad said the first suspect was detained at the town area on May 17.The 23-year-old suspect's arrest led to the discovery of 77 stolen goods, including a wallet, a bag, MyKad and ATM card and other personal items. Also seized was a motorcycle, believed to have been used in the crimes. He also tested positive for drugs.ADVERTISEMENT "Acting on information, a team of police, led by Insp. According to Hamzah, the duo were involved in four break-in cases, three car break-in cases and a snatch theft case at Taman Fajar, Palm Heights, Taman Sri Perdana, Taman Kafoh, Kampung Muhibbah, Taman Aman Jaya and Taman Setia between May 7 and May 17 this year.The total amount of loss was estimated to be around RM24,000. "The modus operandi they used was to wander in the residential areas and look for unlocked cars and houses with less security or unlocked gates and empty houses to commit their crimes," he said.
