Kuala Lumpur: Eversendai Corporation Bhd is eyeing to secure RM2 billion in new contracts this year, plans to re-enter the Singapore market and expand its presence in Thailand.Group Managing Director Tan Sri A.K Nathan said the conglomerate, which clinched RM1.7 billion in contracts in 2015, had secured seven domestic and international projects, worth RM700 million, in the first quarter of this year.

"The contracts include connection design, supply of material, as well as, fabrication and installation of steel structure for Merdeka PNB118 Tower project," he told reporters after the group's annual general meeting here Friday.

Nathan said Eversendai also secured a contract for engineering, connection design, structural steel fabrication and erection works for the Al Maryah Central Mall in Abu Dhabi.

"We are also looking to re-enter Singapore which offers good opportunities, now and widen our presence in Thailand," he added.

Currently, Eversendai has a huge presence in the Middle East and India with both markets contributing 70 per cent and 15 per cent respectively to group revenue.

"Eversendai's venture into Thailand has also proven to be fruitful after it successfully secured a contract for mechanical and electrical erection works and supply for a 600 megawatts coal-fired plant.

"We do not depend on a single market or client, we have spread out to the Middle-East, India and Southeast Asia.

With our reputation, we are confident of winning several new contracts," said Nathan.

The group's order book currently stood at RM2.2 billion over 20 prominent on-going projects.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015, Eversendai profit after tax surged to RM62 million compared with RM36 million in 2014 while revenue rose to RM1.79 billion from RM1 billion previously. – Bernama
