Ranjit honoured for outstanding contribution to Islamic capital devt

Kuala Lumpur: Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) Chairman Datuk Seri Ranjit Ajit Singh received the "Outstanding Contribution for the Development of the Islamic Capital Markets by a Regulator" award at the 2016 London Sukuk Summit on May 25, 2016.In a statement Friday, Ranjit said the award was a strong recognition of the leading role played by the SC, especially in advancing the development of the Islamic capital markets internationally.

"The extensive initiatives taken by the SC includes creating a robust and facilitative regulatory plus Shariah framework which has contributed to the vibrancy of the Malaysian Islamic capital market.

"The SC is also developing the Islamic capital market standards with global standard setters, establishing the world's first Islamic fund management framework and the world's first sustainable and responsible investment sukuk framework," he added. – Bernama
