Kota Kinabalu: Reagen Chin Min Juan won the recent KK Chess Kids Mini Tournament Open 2016 for children aged 6 to 12 year-olds.Second place went to Erroy Casper Felix and Ezekiel Willson came in third among the 25 participants.Tournament Director Sulaiman Jamal, who is a FIDE Chess Instructor as well as a licensed trainer said the competition was held to hone the talents of children and also to give them the exposure.

"Many families who came to witness the competition were very pleased and we received good feedback from them for organising it."

He also said he has his own chess class with 15 students aged 6 - 13 year-old under the KK Chess Kids banner with the objective of helping children who are very interested in chess and at the same time to help the development of chess in Sabah.
