Kuala Lumpur: Sarinah Kasbi, wife of Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Murad Merican of Universiti Sains Malaysia, died Tuesday night in Ipoh. She was 46.Ahmad Murad, who is a faculty member of the USM Centre for Policy Research and International Studies, said Sarinah died of a lung infection at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital at about 9.30pm. She was admitted to the hospital on May 24, he added.

"Sarinah had complained of being unwell over the past few weeks and had fever often before the lung infection was confirmed," Ahmad Murad said here Wednesday.

Sarinah, who was a teacher at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Behrang 2020, Tanjung Malim, also leaves behind a son and a daughter, aged 21 and 19, respectively. – Bernama
