Kota Kinabatangan: A 32-year old handphone supplier was robbed of 400 Nokia handphones and RM4,500 cash by three armed men on Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan, not far from the Sukau roundabout here, Sunday.District Police Chief Supt A. Sahak Rahmat said during the 7.30pm incident, the local man from Sandakan was travelling from Lahad Datu towards Sandakan and had stopped on the roadside to relieve himself.

"After he went out of his car, suddenly, another car, a black Proton Saga stopped behind the victim's car and three men went out and charged towards the victim. Two of the men held machetes in their hands," he said.

One of the men then held his machete to the back of the victim's neck and told him to squat while his two accomplices went to the victim's car and took four boxes containing 400 Nokia handphones and the victim's sling bag containing RM4,500 in cash, bill book and notebook.

The terrified victim did not do anything but obliged them.

"The victim managed to look at the man who held the machete to his neck and described the suspect as wearing a thick moustache, a cap and a black jacket. The suspects then fled towards Lahad Datu," said Sahak.

In the meantime, Sahak urged the public or any witness who saw the incident or has any information related to the incident to come forward and assist the investigation or contact Kinabatangan police at 089-561890.
