Kota Kinabalu: Members of Sabah Red Devils (SRD) are urged to attend the Inaugural Biennial General Meeting in full force at the Kimanis Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu on Saturday (June 25) at 10am.SRD Secretary Pritchard Arthur Gumbaris, who made the call, said the members will be involved in the decision making of the club since SRD took over the administration of the Manchester United Supporters' Club, Malaysia.

"We would like active participation from our members on the direction and activities of the club.

Any matters that can benefit the club will be discussed and decided on that day. Since the inception of SRD in 2011, we have grown bigger over the years and now with the dedication and determination of our committee and members, we have been entrusted to take over Manchester United Supporters Club of Malaysia.

"Taking over the helm of the Malaysian Supporters Club is both an honour and a challenge to us being in the committee.

But such rapid growth was not only because of the strong committee that we have had over the years, it is also because our members have participated in all our events and hopefully they will continue to participate beginning from the Inaugural Biennial General Meeting this Saturday."

He said since the birth of Sabah Red Devils, 150 members have already realised their dreams of watching Manchester United play at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford in Manchester, Champions League Finals in Moscow, in Rome and at Wembley.

"As recent as last month, 13 members were at Wembley to watch Manchester United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the FA Cup Finals. Because of Sabah Red Devils, Sabah is known throughout the Manchester Supporters Club of the World as we are now on the map with a star on our beloved State. That itself is an achievement to all of us in the committee of SRD led by our President.

"The reign of the Manchester United Supporters Club of Malaysia will be handed over to SRD this Saturday night at the dinner with the theme United United!! A New Beginning... and tickets for the event have been sold out and 400 members will be there to witness the historical event."

The organising chairman, Stephen George confirmed that there will be various entertainments including lucky draw and main prize being the air ticket (fully sponsored) to watch a MU match in England is up for grab.
