Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman (pic), Monday, welcomed the new Federal Cabinet line-up as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Razak following a reshuffle.He believed the appointment of two full ministers and four new deputy ministers would strengthen the government's administration under the leadership of Najib in serving the people more effectively and efficiently."The State Government wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the appointment of Datuk Rahman Dahlan as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department responsible for the nation's economic matters which is a high recognition of Sabah leaders playing an important part in the country's development.ADVERTISEMENT "We are also pleased that Datuk Nasrun Datu Mansur was selected to hold the post of Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities that could help further in the development of oil palm which is among the main source of the State's economy," he said in a statement.Musa said he believed the appointment of these two leaders in the new line-up are right choices as they are capable.Rahman who would be in charge of the Economic Planning (EPU) said he is looking forward to carry out programmes that would bring the EPU closer to the people and organise programmes that would make the EPU understood and appreciated by them.He said the EPU must not remain exclusively in the hands of economists, businessmen and policymakers.ADVERTISEMENT "We must strive to present pertinent issues in simpler ways so as to bring the EPU closer to the people. By doing this, I trust we will significantly help a larger cross-section of the people for better understanding the challenging dynamics of our economy. "It is my hope that when the people have a sense of ownership in the EPU, getting them to embrace the policies to counter challenges faced by the nation will be much easier."
