Kota Kinabalu: Sabah representatives in the FAM Cup, KDMM FC and DYS FC will meet for the very first time in the opening match of the Sabah Confederation Cup competition tonight (Wednesday) starting at 9pm at the Likas Stadium.The two teams are currently taking a break and KDMM FC who are second from bottom in Group A are still in with a chance to make the top four as they are only a point behind fourth place KL UKM FC at the moment while DYS FC are out of contention for the knockout stage after collecting only four points from 10 matches in Group B.KDMM FC President Datuk Peter Anthony said the match tonight is going to be intense as both teams will take the game seriously.

"This is the best stage for both teams to assess their strength before they continue their challenge in the FAM Cup next month and this is also the first meeting between us and I believe both teams also would like to win to reach the final."Peter, who is also the skipper of KDMM FC, said the team are training as usual since the break and during the fasting month.
"The players are in tip top condition and we are ready to face any team in this competition."DYS FC on the other hand, who are likely to feature former Rhinos Sharuddin Yaakup, are not setting any target in the match tonight, said team manager Muhd Abdul Karim.

"We had only just started training two weeks ago and it was more towards tactical because of the fasting month. We are not setting any target for the match against KDMM FC. We are definitely going to give our best in preparation for the remaining three matches in the FAM Cup."

Four teams are taking part in the Confederation Cup with Sabah Rhinos taking on Sabah Sukma team in another match to be played tomorrow night.The winners of both matches will proceed to the final on July 2 while the two losers will meet each other in the play-off on July 1.
