Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) said it will continue to monitor the power supply situation in Likas area, despite supply being restored in the Bayshore, Damai and Sabah Trade Centre areas late Monday afternoon. The three areas underwent rotational rationing earlier.

A statement by the utility firm on Tuesday said a mini power station comprising 10 power generator sets has been set up at the Tanjung Lipat Main Intake Station.

The power station, it said, would be able to generate up to 7.5 megawatt of power and also able to cope with the power supply demand during peak hours in the area.

Furthermore, a special operation room has also been set up until all repair works have been completed.

Some areas in Likas suffered blackouts after a major electrical appliance in the Main Intake Substation (MIS) caught fire last Friday night.
