Beach cleaning in Tanjung Lipat

Kota Kinabalu: Local volunteer group Hunger Movement together with their strategic partners JCI Tanjung Aru, JCI Luyang, Harrington Suites by Interland Properties Sdn Bhd, and Lions Club Lintas held a beach cleaning event at Anjung Selera in Tanjung Lipat on June 26. It was not merely a beach cleaning but also promoted civil awareness on ocean conservation and environmental protection.Hunger Movement earlier made a courtesy call to Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai who expressed his full support for the campaign.

With more awareness programmes like what Hunger Movement does, together with government bodies and the people of the city, we will make Kota Kinabalu a better, cleaner and healthier city to live in, he said.City Hall also sent their garbage truck on that day to collect the rubbish and in conjunction with the environmental awareness campaign nationwide, volunteers separated the rubbish into different categories such as plastic, paper, perishable and others including bottles, fabric, leather, electronics and metals.
