Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the Government's seriousness in helping Bumiputera businesses to grow must be matched with entrepreneurs' commitment by participating actively in programmes and activities organised to help them succeed. He reassured that the Government has been very serious about taking Bumiputera businesses to greater heights by providing them with various programmes and activities such as seminars implemented by the relevant departments, agencies, the private sector and other bodies. He said it is through such programmes that they will be able to develop their capacity and gain the knowledge necessary to grow their businesses, including information on how to seek grants from the Government. He was sad to learn, however, that some Bumiputera entrepreneurs did not participate in such programmes and activities.ADVERTISEMENT He was officiating the new building of Sekolah Agama Rakyat Nurul Hikmah in Bukit Padang, Wednesday.Speaking from personal experience as an entrepreneur himself before getting involved in politics, Musa said although it takes hard work and strong determination to build any business, Bumiputera entrepreneurs would be successful only if they knew the ropes which they can obtain from active participation in programmes and activities provided by the Government. He also reminded Bumiputera entrepreneurs to strive toward becoming independent and not relying too much on the government.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
