Special leave on July 8 for civil servants

Putra Jaya: The Government has agreed to grant special leave to federal civil servants on July 8 (Friday) if Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on July 6, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa announced Thursday.However, he said, the special leave from work would not be applicable if the first day of Raya is declared to be on July 5 (Tuesday).

"Members of the public who plan to obtain government services on the special leave day are encouraged to visit the departments and agencies before the Hari Raya public holidays," he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Sabah State Government has agreed to give a special release from duty on July 8 to civil servants in the State if Hari Raya Aidilfitri is declared on July 6.

State Secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman said this is in line with the decision made at the Federal Government level to give a special release from duty on the date in question.

Nevertheless, he said, the special release from duty was not applicable if Hari Raya was declared on July 5.

"In this regard, the public planning to obtain the services of state government agencies must pay attention to the Hari Raya Aidilfitri public holidays and this special release day," he said in a statement, Thursday.
