Trespassing: Jobless man is charged

Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old jobless man was charged at the Magistrate's Court here Monday with trespassing a workshop office in Penampang last year.Mohd Sawal Justin Abdullah is accused of committing the offence at the office of the Maefare 4x4 workshop along Jalan Tambunan – Penampang between 5pm on Sept 20, 2015 and 8am on Sept 21 the same year.

Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus set Aug 9 for case management and released Sawal on a bail of RM4,000 in two sureties.

Sawal was charged under Section 448 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to three years or fine or both on conviction.

In another case, seven men were penalised for committing drug-related offences.

Chiew Nyuk Min and Marjin Jinnur admitted to having 0.34gm of syabu in a car at the Luyang area at 11.10pm on April 21.

Chiew was fined RM3,000 or 10 months' jail while Marjin was jailed ten months.

Meanwhile, the other five, Tanabalan Ramaya, Paisal Abd Ghani, Nor Hairul Nordin, Andasong Hassan and Mazlan Abd Latip pleaded guilty to taking drugs at separate places here and in Penampang between April 12 and June 12.

Tanabalan and Paizal were fined RM1,500 or four months' jail, Andasong and Mazlan were jailed seven months while Hairul was handed six months' jail.

Inspector Isfandiar Jasdi prosecuted.

Meanwhile, in the Sessions Court, three foreigners, Adam Abon, Abdul Rahman and Azuan Latang were jailed three months for illegal entry.

Judge Elsie Primus also ordered Abdul caned once.

In the same court, another three foreigners were sentenced to two months' jail each for overstaying in the State.

Amir Rongan, 38, Musa Igon, 23, and Mazlee Syaidi, 30, were arrested between June 22 and July 1.
