MP: More funds needed to complete projects

Tenom: More allocations are needed for the completion of three projects in the district, namely the construction of the new bridge in Melalap, the Melalap Township and the Melalap train station museum. Tenom MP Datuk Raime Unggi said the new bridge costing about RM30 million is almost complete with only six kilometres from the bridge to the Sabah Agriculture Park at the Lagud Seberang road which is only awaiting more allocations. He said this at his Hari Raya open house in Kg. Mantailan Tenom here, on recently. ADVERTISEMENT He hoped the State and Federal government will hasten allocations so that construction can be implemented.He also hoped Sime Darby will cooperate in pushing for a faster allocation since several kilometres of the route also pass through the Sime Darby estate.He gave full support to the development of the Melalap township and Melalap train station museum which can attract more tourists to the district and hoped Sime Darby will work together with the government in obtaining speedier approval for the development site for the township.He said this is so that these two projects can obtain the necessary funds for development and further add to the local economic development. ADVERTISEMENT Full support was also expressed by Melalap Umno Chief Anif Datuk Sangau for the development of the Melalap Township and train station museum. Anif also hoped the road in front of the Murut Cultural Centre can be developed quickly.

He reminded Sabahans not to be swayed by the incident which took place in the peninsula where the Democratic Action Party (DAP) allegedly issued a statement which offended Muslims. Raime said the people should be grateful because they have a good and active leader, namely Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who has led the nation in a peaceful and prosperous manner.
