Husband, uncle among five
Kota Kinabalu: HARIYANTI Hamsih's husband, Mohd Ridzuan Ismail, 32, is among the five Malaysians kidnapped in the Dent Heaven waters off Tambisan Lahad Datu on Sunday. Her uncle, Abd Rahim Summas, 62 was also among the five who went missing.

It would have been a triple blow had her father, Hamsih Musa, 57, who is the boat master, had also been kidnapped.

He escaped because he was not on the boat when it sailed out to sea.

"He (husband) will call me three to four times a day but I did not receive any call from him on Monday," she said, adding they only spoke briefly over the phone on Sunday because their child was crying.

Worry turned to shock when she was told that the Serudong 3 and Serudong 4, were found with its engines still running on Monday. She said she tried to contact her husband's handphone on Monday after receiving the news, adding that her uncle's (Abd Rahman) handphone was also not reachable.

The mother to Noridawati, 5, Nur Ain Sofiah, 3 and Nur Amira Nasuha, three-months-old, was in tears as she desperately prayed for the safe return of her husband and four others. She said the last they met was on Friday, when she sent her husband to the Tawau- Sandakan bus terminal.

She said her husband, who is from Kg Jengka 7, Pahang, and the eldest of seven siblings, said he was tired due to lack of sleep while attending a course in Kota Kinabalu, but had to go to Sandakan for work.

Mohd Riduan started working in the shipping field three years ago and were previously in Pasir Gudang Johor before returning to her hometown in Kg Tanjung Batu Ortentik after their eldest child fell sick.

She said a police report was lodged by the husband's siblings at Pahang, adding that her husband is an orphan.

Meanwhile, her mother Hasnah Summas, 52, heaved a sigh of relief to see her husband (Hamsih) at the Lahad Datu police headquarters when they went to the police station on Tuesday.

However, the relief turned to sadness when she heard that her brother (Abd Rahim) and her son-in-law, Mohd Riduan as well as the other crew who also have family relations with them, were kidnapped.

"My husband has been in the shipping field for 36 years but he did not sail on the tugboat … he is now at the police station to facilitate investigations," she said.
