New formula soon to resolve FAM crisis

Kuala Lumpur: A new formula would be identified to resolve problems besetting the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) lately.Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the effort was the result of an hour-long meeting with FAM president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah Tuesday. "There are several developments which I feel are very positive to give me more time to discuss with the others.

We will make an announcement after that...in two or three days," he told reporters after a meeting at Tengku Abdullah's residence in Jalan Ampang Tuesday. Khairy however, declined to comment whether there would be a meeting between Tengku Abdullah, the Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and himself. "I do not want to comment on the matter (the meeting) but I believe this formula could bring all parties together to develop football in the country," he said. Earlier, Tengku Abdullah said he was prepared to meet Khairy to seek solutions on problems affecting the association. The meeting was a follow-up to the retirement of four Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) players from the national squad and Tunku Ismail had alleged he had evidence of wrongdoings in the governing body for football in the country. – Bernama
