Raping and beating teen girl: Man held

Ranau: A 22-year-old man who is suspected to have held a teenager hostage and raping and beating her for two weeks was nabbed by police on Tuesday. District Police Chief DSP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the local man was arrested at his house in Kg Sinarut Baru, after a police report was lodged by the teenager at the Penampang police station the same day. "The report stated that on July 11, the 16-year-old Form Four student had followed her boyfriend to Ranau in his car. ADVERTISEMENT "The teenager was said to have known the man through WeChat and had been communicating with him for about a month. "The man took the teenager to his home in Kg Sinarut Baru but they got into an argument when the teenager insisted to be sent home. "This prompted the man to scold and slap the teenager several times causing her to be terrified and give in to him. "The teenager was raped several times before the man dropped her off near the Matahari furniture store in Putatan two weeks later, leaving her to walk home.
