Umno Tenom denies 10 branches have quit

Tenom: The Umno Tenom divisional office here has denied that 10 of its branches have declared to leave the party.Its Secretary Esar Andamas said this following a statement by the branch chief for Kalang-Kanar cum the division's main committee member, Nossil Basayu, as reported by Astro Awani and a news portal "Aku Anak Sabah" on Wednesday.He said Nossil's statement on July 27 will not weaken the struggle of Umno Tenom as it is baseless.

In fact, Esar said they do not recognise those people shown in a picture reported in the portal except for Nossil."We do not know those people in the picture shown in the portal except Nossil. The rest are probably people they just picked up to substantiate their statement about leaving the party."We also are not surprised by Nossil's action because all this while, we have known where his loyalty lies," he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Nossil, when contacted on Thursday, said his decision together with his friends to leave Umno is final and will not back out even though they are being persuaded to change their mind.
