Sabah hosting first int'l lion dance contest

Penampang: A two-day International Traditional Lion Dance contest is underway here with representatives from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, USA and Singapore.Malaysia is represented by Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Sabah.District Officer Luvita Koisun said this is the first time such event is held in Sabah and Donggongon is privileged to be the venue.

Local residents should take the opportunity to witness this event without any entrance fee as it is held in the open Buhavan Square," she said after opening. The local Sabah teams are competing on Friday while today (Saturday) the international teams will display their skills.The organisers, Shan Fu Gong Association, said there are two teams from China, Hong Kong and Vietnam, one each from USA and Singapore while Malaysia has several teams from Sabah, Kuala Lumpur and Johor.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
