No stopping efforts: Musa

Sandakan: The Government will continue to turun padang where the wakil rakyat have been given the mandate to serve as it is not a privilege but a responsibility. "This is also what we want from grassroots leaders, to continue working," Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman (pic) said, adding that many more government plans would be implemented. He cited Kg Tinosa 2, which has seen much development including roads, schools and mosque for the use of the people.

The Barisan Nasional government has no full stop in its efforts and will continue to work for the people, he said during the Hari Raya gathering held at the Masjid Asmaul Husna Kg Tinosa 2 grounds, here, Saturday. Musa also reminded the people not to listen to the Opposition. He said the people know how to evaluate if the government and its leaders are lazy, and how to develop. Thus, he urged leaders to be progressive and responsible as well as to use the government approach to go down to the field regardless of time for the sake of the people.

Musa also said the practice of holding open houses in various locations can help strengthen unity and create an atmosphere of being in a big family. "In Libaran for example, previously we only had the open house at Dewan Libaran, but this year, we have it in areas which combine district voting centres from several locations, which allows more guests to attend," he said.

"We are also grateful to be able to meet once again for this gathering celebrated with the people," added Musa, who is Sg Sibuga Assemblyman Musa said the open house concept is also part of the government's approach for leaders to meet people at the grassroots level and know their problems. Also present were Libaran MP Datuk Juslie Ajirol, Libaran Wanita Unmo Chief Datuk Armani Mahiruddin and Sandakan Municipal Council Vice President Hamsan Awang Supain among others. Earlier, Musa also attended a Hari Raya programme with residents of Kg Padas Batu 10.
