Penampang: PBS President Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan must end his political career with a clean record by completing the RCI Report.Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah Vice Chief Terrence Siambun said Pairin has been instrumental in the fight for Sabah's rights since the Berjaya era and it is only right that he leave a lasting legacy by submitting the RCI proposal before his retirement.

"I have called for him to be replaced as the RCI Technical Committee head but I really want him to complete his task since the RCI has been part of his struggle for many years.

"I'm sure Pairin will submit strong and constructive proposals for the Permanent Committee and the government to consider in an effort to solve the illegal immigrant issue once and for all," he said.

Siambun who is also Moyog Assemblyman said Pairin had delayed the report for 19 months and since he had indicated that he would be retiring soon, it is only appropriate for him to tie any loose ends, which in this case, is the RCI Report.

Last week, Pairin, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, announced that PBS, the party he started in 1984, is in leadership transition process and gave Deputy President Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili the green light to carry out the duties of the party's president with immediate effect.

Siambun said other than the RCI recommendations, he also hoped Pairin can fulfil his promises to sort out all pending issues both in rural and urban Penampang district, whose people had installed him as the Huguan Siou.

Recently, Pairin promised to set up a water pump house as part of flood mitigation plans along the Pan Borneo Highway construction sites.

Siambun also urged Pairin to work out plans to repair the Kondohon-Kampung Boko/Kituau road as promised.

He added that Pairin should do his best to solve the continuous flooding in Kampung Lomunu caused by improper development and planning by the local authorities.

"I always respect him as a leader but as the people's representative, I must fulfil my obligations by putting aside my personal feelings towards Pairin and ask that he does what should be done in these last months of him in office and make things right again.

"He would always be remembered by Sabahans, especially the KDM," he said.
