Jake is new Sabah Karate Association President

Kota Kinabalu: Datuk Jake Jikulin Nointin has succeeded Datuk Seri Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing to become the President of Sabah Karate Association (SKA). In the Annual General Meeting (AGM) cum election for new office bearers held last Saturday, Wilfred declined to seek re-election, despite nominations from all the SKA branches state-wide.Instead he recommended Jake to take over his post which he had held for 31 years.

Under his leadership, numerous international championships were held including the WKF Championship in 1994.He also managed to guide Sabah to become national champions for 10 consecutive years and managed to produce karate exponents that have seen action at the highest level such as the World and Asian Championships.Jake on accepting the post praised his predecessor for his input to the sport over the years."Datuk Seri (Wilfred) has done a lot for the sport of karate in Sabah, and what he has done is a hard act to follow.

Nevertheless, I'm determined to bring Sabah karate to a new era. I believe we have a strong line-up and I'm quite optimistic we will go on the right path in bringing the sport to a new level," he said.His deputy will be Datuk Herman Tiongsoh, who retained his Deputy President post uncontested.

The four Vice Presidents elected are Paul Chin, Francis Kojiun, Richard Ajax and Johnny Chong.The five committee members are Godfrey Anthony, Kosmas Anggar, Frederick Kiamut, Alex Lim and Iskhandar Damis.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
