Kota Marudu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan) Sabah Chief Datuk Lajim Ukin reminded his party to put its resources now in Sabah and Sarawak if it does not want to lose sight of capturing Putrajaya.Lajim said while Sabah Keadilan has done a very good job, including doubling the number of members under his watch, the central leadership must do more to help strengthen the party in Sabah."When I took over in 2013 the membership in Sabah was only about 40,000 but after three years we are second only to Selangor with over 90,000 members.ADVERTISEMENT "We don't achieve this using just our 'saliva' (air liur). We cannot win just by using words only, we need to have proper preparation and 'bullets'," he said, at the party's Kota Marudu annual meeting at Kampung Kokobuan, Sunday.Lajim, who is also Klias Assemblyman and the state opposition chief, also said Keadilan would need to work with the major parties in Sabah in order to win.He singled out the group that would be led by Umno's former vice president Datuk Shafie Apdal who has been making a round lately.Sabah and Sarawak has a combined 57 of the current 222 parliamentary seats in Malaysia, which is considered crucial for either PH and the long-ruling Barisan Nasional, in their quest to win or retain the central power.ADVERTISEMENT Lajim said the people are now more demanding and they want real assurance before they cast their votes for any party.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"If a party promises that it will give autonomy to Sabah after it forms the Federal Government, no one will believe such pledge anymore. We have seen (broken) promises," he said.
