Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd will be launching Ops Secure today (Aug 16) to keep power disruption down to a minimum. The utility firm has identified 47 locations constantly experiencing scheduled power failures and Luyang will be the first area for the operation. The work will involve 100 staff and contractors from all over the State and Labuan, it said.

The work, which involves maintenance work on existing power lines, will be done each week for the next six months, with continuous monitoring carried out. "To ensure the operation will be carried out without risking the safety of workers and contractors, power supply will be temporarily shut down.
