Abetting trio in K'gau robbery: Man discharged and acquitted

Kota Kinabalu: A 34-year-old man was discharged and acquitted from a charge of abetting three men in a robbery. Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz freed Anthonius Allan Juselly from the charge after ruling that the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt.

Anthonius was accused of abetting three accomplices, namely, Jaya Tambrin, Yusran Lassa and Asri Yansi to rob one Felix Kesupin, 36, of his Toyota Hilux Vigo car.

The offence allegedly took place at 11.30pm on Feb 23, 2013, at the car park of Adika Complex in Keningau.

He was charged under Section 109/395 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, on conviction.

Counsel Datu Baginda Laja represented Anthonius.

Meanwhile, in another case, two local men were charged with allowing illegal immigrants to stay in their premises.

Mosidiqq Voo Abdullah and Fred @ Mohd Redwan Ungot @ Abdullah pleaded guilty to the charge against them.

Mosidiqq is accused of permitting two Filipinos to stay at a premises in Sindumin town, Beaufort at 12.50pm on Apr 9 this year.

Fred allegedly allowed four foreigners to stay at his premises in Jalan Maksak, Keningau at 5.30pm on May 10.

The court released them on bail of RM5,000 with RM2,500 deposited in two local sureties each and fixed Aug 30 for case management.

Prosecuting Officer Hamisa Puteh from the Immigration Department prosecuted.
