Kenya adopts UTC programme to deliver better public service

Putra Jaya: Malaysia's Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) programme has helped Kenya to deliver a better public service to its people.Kenya chairperson of Public Service Commission Prof Margaret Kobia said she first heard of the initiative during the last edition of Commonwealth Association for Public Administration and Management Conference (Capam) hosted by Malaysia, and had since then replicated it in her home country. "I am delighted to see how Malaysia works on public services for the betterment of the people."Since then we have opened 40 centres throughout Kenya which caters for our people to benefit from it," she told Bernama after attending the Commonwealth secretary general's reception at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here.ADVERTISEMENT The reception was held on the eve of the 2016 Capam Biennial Conference, being held at PICC from Thursday until Aug 20. Kobia, who is also head of Kenya delegates to Capam, said the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) by Malaysia received overwhelming responses from all delegates and they were looking forward to apply it in their country.Meanwhile Solomon Islands chairman of Public Service Commission Eliam Tangirongo said he was impressed with the progress of Malaysia's plan in NBOS.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
