Tenom wanita head hopes to be senator

Tenom: Tenom Wanita Umno chief Datuk Rahmahjan Sulaiman said she has no intention to stand as a candidate in the next general election but will consider if offered the post of senator.She said she is not interested to contest in the State or parliamentary seats.Earlier when speaking at the division's Wanita Umno delegates meeting, Rahmahjan slammed individuals, including former party leaders, for trying to undermine Umno by harping on the 1MDB, RM2.6 billion donation and corruption issues.

Labelling them as traitors and "hawks", she said Wanita Umno has vowed to fight against such people."These people are like hawks who eye for opportunities. But when they can't find them, they'll fly away and disappear," she said.She said the movement resolved that party president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak must never bow to pressure.She also slammed the opposition, saying they have nothing to show in terms of ruling the country.

In relation to this, she urged fellow party members not to allow themselves to be influenced by those who have betrayed Umno.
