Three KK motorists are fined RM3,800

Kota Kinabalu: Three motorists were fined a total of RM3,800 by the Magistrate's Court here for various traffic offences.Yong Chiew Kong pleaded guilty before Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus to four offences committed between 2013 and 2014.He was fined RM700 or three weeks' jail for driving a car along Jalan Kolam here on April 2, 2014 with an expired road tax and was ordered to pay a fine of RM300 or three weeks' jail for having no insurance coverage.

Yong was also fined RM800 or three weeks' jail for driving a vehicle which had no road tax at 1am on Aug 14, 2013 at Mile 7, Jalan Tuaran.The court fined him another RM600 or three weeks' jail for driving a car at Mile 4, Jalan Tuaran on Aug 11, 2013 without fastening his seatbelt.The other man, Tai Sau Phin, was ordered to pay a fine of RM700 or three weeks' jail after he admitted to using a handphone while driving a car along Jalan Lintas at 12.15pm on Jan 6 this year.Meanwhile, Christie Julius was fined RM700 or three weeks' jail for riding a motorcycle with an expired road tax.

In the same court, a local man and four foreigners were charged with drug-related offences.Rody Vyster Sinlin is accused of having drugs but no plea was taken from him while waiting for the chemist's report.

The court set Sept 26 for mention and released Rody on a bail of RM2,000 in two sureties.Bandung Waldo, Norman Jainal, Aljibin Binjamul, Azlan Alaudin each faced two counts of having drugs and taking drugs but no plea was also recorded from them.The court fixed mention for between Sept 29 and Oct 10 and ordered them remanded further.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
