Sabah to benefit from coaching course

Kota Kinabalu: Fifteen coaches are participating in the world squash level one coaching course which started on Monday until Friday (September 20) at the Likas Squash courts.The five-day course is conducted by Vice President of Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia (SRAM) Peter Chee and Major (rtd) S. Maniam who is the director of coaching.

Sabah Squash Association (SSA) President Charles O Pang in welcoming the duo said the State body is grateful with the support of the national body in staging the course.

"We are most appreciative of the support of Squash Racquets Association Malaysia's decision to hold a World Squash Federation, level one course here in Kota Kinabalu and on behalf of SSA, I would like to thank both Peter Chee and Major (rtd) S. Maniam for coming all the way to conduct this meaningful course."

He said the presence of both Maniam and Chee will benefit the State with their expertise and experience in the sport.

"Sabah, like most other states, faces a shortage of qualified and committed local coaches, and this course conducted by both will certainly helps in that direction."

He stressed that the State committee has always worked closely with SRAM in all areas possible for the growth of the game of squash in Sabah apart from identifying potential players for the national level.

He also thanked the Youth and Sports Ministry, Sabah Sports Council, the committees from SSA and Kota Kinabalu Squash Association as well as all the coaches for their support.
