Philippine consular services in S'kan Sept 6-12

Kota Kinabalu: Filipinos in Sandakan and nearby areas can avail themselves to the consular services by the Philippine consular team there starting Tuesday to Friday.The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur said a consular team is now in Sandakan to accommodate its citizens who need to apply for new Philippine travel documents and other documentations ." The consular services will be held at the Dewan Sibuga in Sandakan from Sept 6 to 12 starting 9am to 5pm daily," the Embassy said.ADVERTISEMENT The consular services will continue from Sept 12 to 16 at the same place before the team's returns to Kuala Lumpur."This is the only venue that we will be conducting the consular services and Filipinos who wish to apply for their new passport or renewal of documents and other documentations are strongly advised to grab the opportunity," the Embassy stressed, adding that only 130 applications will be accommodated daily.To avoid inconveniences and possible disappointments, applicants are reminded to bring along all the necessary supporting documents like birth certificate (born in the Philippines), or Malaysian birth certificate , or an affidavit certified by Ketua Kampung to show proof that the applicants are Filipinos.The fee for new passport is RM255 and application forms are available at the centre free of charge.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Applicants are also required to bring along their respective Pos Laju envelop and all passports will be processed in Kuala Lumpur within one month after which the documents will be mailed to the applicants via Pos Laju.Applicants should ensure that their mailing addresses are correctly stated in the application form to avoid unnecessary problems.
