'FAM must disclose contents of pendrive'

Kuala Lumpur: Revealing the contents of the pendrive concerning the Football Association of Malaysia is more important than hunting down the person who leaked the information, said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin. "What is important is definitely the contents, in terms of priority. I believe football fans do not want to hear who leaked the information," he told reporters when met after attending the Kyoto-Asean 2016 Forum here Thursday. On Sept 1, FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said the association was investigating the person who gave the pendrive to the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim. ADVERTISEMENT He said the association would take stern action against the individual involved after finding out the actual contents of the pendrive from Khairy. According to Khairy, the contents of the pendrive were documents on the technical aspects of football in Malaysia. Last Monday, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigation director Datuk Azam Baki confirmed that the contents of the pendrive had no element of corruption under the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama
