Upko must reclaim 3 seats from PBS: Ewon

Ranau: Ranau's Pertubuhan Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Bersatu (Upko) Chief, Datuk Dr Ewon Ebin, suggested to the party leadership that the state seats once represented by Upko be returned to the party to contest in the coming gnereal election (GE14).He said it was the right thing to do since Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) continue, to lobby for the Bingkor seat which previously was represented by Upko."If PBS has intention to contest in Bingkor then Upko should claim the seats it once represented like Kadamaian, Tamparuli and Inanam," he said.ADVERTISEMENT He was commenting on the statement made by PBS' central leadership in a local daily recently, where the party asked to be handed the seat in Bingkor for GE14 considreing the fact that the candidate who represented Upko in the previous election lost it to Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan from Star.Ewon who is also Ranau MP was speaking during the Upko Ranau Convention 2016 that was held at the Dewan Masyarakat Ranau that was officiated by UPKO's acting President, Datuk Seri Madius Tangau.Upko Ranau would also like to suggest that it be given extra seats while maintaining the current seats it holds come GE14," he said, referring to the recent addition of 13 state DUN seats during the redelineation that was recommended by the Election Commission (SPR).In his speech, he also urged all party members to solidify their unity at all levels apart from moving the party's machinery in facing the coming GE14.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"All party members must be united and work together among ourselves within the Barisan Nasional(BN) if we want to see BN continue to rule," he said.According to Ewon, party members must take heed from the fall of political parties that once had high influence in Sabah who lacks unity and bickering among themselves.
