Kota Kinabalu: The long bond of diplomatic relationship between China and Malaysia has led to logistic collaboration in various fields, setting a good example in the region of friendly cooperation between two nations which benefits the people of both countries.Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the Consulate General of China in Kota Kinabalu has this year made remarkable and efficient efforts in the aspect of education, culture, tourism and trading.

"It has further strengthened the relationship between Sabah and China and ensured mutually beneficial collaboration.

The State Government will continue to provide support and assistance to your office on your future undertakings," he said, at the 67th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the Opening Ceremony of Tianjin Folk Culture Exhibition, Thursday.

His speech was read by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

Musa praised China, who, for more than half a century, become a role model for nations that are committed to realising development within their own capabilities.

China, he said, has also contributed towards promoting world peace, stability and development.

Early this month, China successfully hosted the G20 Hangzhou Summit which meets both the hopes and expectations of all parties towards China, especially among developing countries.

During the summit, President Xi Jinping put forward China's view on global economic governance, indicating that China, as a major power and with its wider, deeper and higher levels of participation in the global economic governance, is actively committed to contributing its concepts and wisdom to the global economic governance.

"Looking ahead, Sabah is expected to develop even quicker in future. I know that the 'Belt and Road' initiative launched by the Chinese government, is carried out step by step and there are several outcomes in some countries already, outlining a blueprint featuring the coordinated development of countries along the route.

"On the basis of the respective development visions of Sabah and China, a new cooperation with increasing depth and width is highly expected," he said.

Musa added that he looks forward to seeing Kota Kinabalu and Hangzhou establish friendship cities relationship soon.

"I am convinced that more fruitful outcomes will surely be yielded under the joint efforts of both the Sabah government and the Consulate General of China in Kota Kinabalu," he said.
