Putra Jaya: The Telco Mini Centre (TMC) Mobile service is expected to hit the road soon to help those living in rural areas pay their telecommunications and utility bills and loans.TMC Mobile Project Director Azwa Othman said five TMC Mobile trucks would cover scheduled routes, which are yet to be announced, in selected rural areas in Johor, Kelantan, Sabah, Selangor and Terengganu.

With the TMC Mobile service, those in rural areas don't need to travel to the city to pay their bills or sort out their education, personal and business loans.

"They can also purchase SIM cards and top-ups, subscribe to pay TV channels and register their phones with the mobile service," he told reporters after Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari launched the TMC Mobile service here Wednesday.

Azwa said there are no additional charges for bill payments and top-up transactions as the service was designed to reduce the cost for consumers.

He said each truck reqiures an initial investment outlay of RM120,000 for the computer systems and various equipment.

"We aim to have 10 TMC Mobile trucks by year-end and we are ready to assist anyone interested in becoming our business partner," he added. – Bernama
