Sabah JPs feted Down Under

Kota Kinabalu: Members of the Council of the Justices of the Peace, Sabah were invited to attend the Centenary Celebration of the Royal Association of Justices Western Australia in Perth on Oct 7-8.The Justices of the Peace group from Sabah was led by their Council President Datuk Seri Clarence Bongkos Malakun. The group also included the Deputy President Datuk Dr. Lawrence S.H. Thien, Datuk Francis T.N. Yap, Datuk Geoffrey Yee, Datuk Kelvin Lim and Dr. Oh Eh Sun.

The Royal Association of Justices Western Australia welcomed their fellow Justices of the Peace from Malaysia, New Zealand, and other countries to an evening reception, hosted by the Lord Mayor Md. Lisa Scaffidi, held on Oct 7 , at the Perth City Hall. Also present at the function were prominent and senior Justices from Australia as well as several councillors of the city, including a lawyer, Keith Yong, who was originally from Kota Kinabalu, who was recently elected as a councillor of the City of Perth. The Centenary Celebration to mark the 100-year establishment of the Association of Justices in Australia was held on Oct 8 with a grand dinner held at a hotel. Also in attendance were Ross O'neil, the President of the Royal Association of Justices Western Australia, Registrar Fiona Sassenfeld, and senior members from the Judiciary as well as from the Attorney General's Chamber.
