"I've just checked the Immigration website and yes, my status is now "Tiada Halangan". Looking forward to my first trip "overseas!" the Petaling Jaya Utara MP wrote .In July last year, Pua was at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 for a flight to Yogyakarta, Indonesia when he was stopped from flying. The Petaling Jaya Utara MP then filed for a judicial review in October that year, challenging the Director-General of Immigration's decision barring him from travelling overseas. The DAP leader alleged that the order was ultra vires or beyond the authority of the respondents as he was not given any notice or opportunity to be heard prior to the decision. Besides seeking to quash the order, he also asked for special damages, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court. The High Court however, dismissed the judicial review application.
